Ragdoll kittens Perth, Fremantle, Joondalup and Mandurah
Looking for Ragdoll kittens in Perth, WA? I'm Shannon, and I breed Ragdolls with my family at Regal Ragdoll Kittens, at home in Bowral, NSW. Perth is nearly 4,000 km from our front door, the furthest any of our kittens travel. I think that distance is exactly why you should be choosy about who you buy from, and I am happy to be asked hard questions.
Our kittens fly west at twelve to thirteen weeks, already desexed and microchipped, which covers two of the three things the WA Cat Act asks of every cat. They have had two F3 vaccinations and a vet health check, they come from parents DNA-tested negative for HCM and PKD, and they carry pedigree papers on limited registration.
These cards show each current litter and who is still looking for a home. Western Australian families can reserve from six weeks with a deposit, which comes off the final price, or join the waitlist without paying anything. Full kitten profiles are on our kittens for sale page.

Long, plush and happiest stretched out on the cat bed.

A round, soft boy who purrs as soon as you look at him.

Six weeks old, wobbly on her feet and already marching up to meet visitors.

Calm, cuddly and happiest asleep on someone's shoulder.

Playful, bold and fascinated by running water.

Sweet natured and devoted to her brother Ned.

Extra fluffy and happy to be carried around the house.

Long-legged, chatty and the first to the door.
The longest flight we book, and the one we plan most carefully.
Sydney to Perth is roughly four and a half to five hours in the air, longer than a flight to New Zealand. A licensed pet transport company books the flight and handles the airline paperwork. Your kitten travels in an airline-approved carrier with a blanket from our house, and you collect them from the transporter at Perth Airport.
Mind the clock. Perth sits two hours behind Sydney for half the year and three hours behind while NSW is on daylight saving, because WA does not change its clocks. A kitten that leaves Sydney after lunch can land in Perth in the late afternoon your time, having been awake and travelling for most of the day by its own body clock.
| Option | Approximate time | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Licensed pet transporter, Sydney to Perth Airport | About 4.5 to 5 hours flying, plus check-in and collection | Charged at cost, usually $350 to $550 |
| Fly to Sydney yourself and collect from Bowral by appointment | About 4.5 to 5 hours flying, then about 1.5 hours by car to Bowral | Your own flights and travel |
Driving across the Nullarbor with a kitten is not a realistic option, and I don't suggest it. Everything about transport day, from the carrier to what to feed on arrival, is on our Ragdoll kitten delivery Australia-wide page.
Kalamunda, Midland and Forrestfield families have the shortest trip home, as the airport sits on the eastern side of the city.
Southern suburbs families should allow for the drive down the freeway at peak hour. Have the car cool before you load the carrier, especially between December and March.
From Joondalup or Wanneroo it is a longer cross-city run. A towel draped over the carrier keeps the light and traffic noise down for a kitten who has had a big day.
Families from Mandurah, Bunbury or further south also collect at Perth Airport. For the longer drives, bring water and a small dish, and stop only somewhere you can keep the car shaded and running.
Western Australia has a statewide cat law. Your local government's local laws sit on top of it, so please check with them.
The Cat Act 2011 is administered by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and enforced by local governments. For a kitten coming from us, the key rules are:
Our kittens are desexed and microchipped before they fly, and we transfer the microchip to you on the NSW Pet Registry. Your job once the kitten lands is to register them with your local government, update the microchip contact details, and get the tag on a collar.
On that collar: for a cat that lives indoors, buy a breakaway or safety-buckle collar that opens under pressure. Ragdolls are heavy and relaxed, and they will wedge themselves into odd spots behind furniture.
Perth summers run long and dry, and hot easterly winds can push the temperature up before the afternoon sea breeze, the Fremantle Doctor, arrives. Coastal suburbs cool down on most afternoons, while the eastern suburbs and the Hills often stay hot well into the evening. Plan your kitten's base room around that. A room on the cool side of the house with a ceiling fan or air-conditioning, tiles or a cooling mat, and water in more than one place will see a Ragdoll through.
Ragdolls are not big jumpers or window-sill sprawlers, so keep their beds low and out of direct sun rather than up on a sunny ledge.
Dugites turn up in Perth suburbs, especially near bushland, wetlands and new estates on the fringe. A Ragdoll's calm, curious nature is a liability around a snake. Keep your Ragdoll indoors, and if you want them to have fresh air, build an enclosed catio. It also protects the bobtails, skinks and birds that share Perth gardens. You will find more on why the breed suits an indoor life in our Ragdoll cat breed overview.
A kitten who has been on the move for most of a day will usually want food, water, the litter tray and then sleep, in that order. Set up one quiet room with all four before you go to the airport. Offer the food we send with them, and keep their meal times close to what they had in Bowral, shifted gently to Perth time over a few days.
Here is my firm advice for Perth buyers: choose on temperament, not colour. You won't be able to sit on our floor and watch the litter, so tell me how your house runs, ask me which kitten is the cuddler and which is the explorer, and let that guide you. A chocolate bicolour is lovely, but a kitten whose personality fits your home will matter far more over the next fifteen years.
Every Perth family gets a video call with us and the kittens before reserving, and weekly photos and videos afterwards until flight day. Meet the parents and see their DNA results on our breeding cats page.

Yes. A licensed pet transport company flies your kitten from Sydney to Perth Airport in an airline-approved carrier, and you collect them there. It is our longest route, roughly four and a half to five hours in the air. The cost is charged at cost and is usually $350 to $550. Our kittens are twelve to thirteen weeks old when they fly, not eight.
Under the Cat Act 2011, every cat in WA must be microchipped, sterilised and registered with its local government by six months of age, and a kitten cannot be sold until it is microchipped. Registered cats must wear a collar with their registration tag. Our kittens arrive already desexed and microchipped, so you only need to register them with your council.
It depends on your local government. The Cat Act 2011 lets WA local governments make local laws limiting how many cats you can keep, and the limits are not the same everywhere in Perth. Check your council's cat local law before you reserve a kitten, especially if you already have cats at home or live in a strata unit.

Yes, for a healthy kitten of the right age. We send kittens at twelve to thirteen weeks, when they are vaccinated, desexed, eating solid food well and big enough to cope with a long flight. They travel in an airline-approved carrier booked by a licensed pet transporter,, with a blanket that smells of home and the food they know waiting at the other end.
